Past Tense
The past tense indicates an action or state that occurred or existed in the past. It involves adding “-ed” to the base form of regular verbs, though irregular verbs have unique past tense forms.
- Simple past tense –actions completed in the past
- Past continuous tense – an action happens continuously in the past
- Past perfect tense –an action completed in the far past
- Past Perfect continuous tense – Started in the past, continued and ended in the past
